My clients are young adults seeking alignment, clarity and empowerment during complex and challenging transitional periods in life. I support them by providing creative art-based resources and counselling strategies, so that they have the space and capacity to develop a greater understanding of their evolving identity, values, and aspirations. My approach is client-centered, strength-based and trauma-informed. I work from an integrated therapeutic framework that encompasses both dynamic and process-oriented art and talk therapies.

If you’d like to know more about me:

I'm an art therapist currently based in Hong Kong, where I was born and raised. Growing up I was always deeply interested in art, and believed that art - in some form or another - would be my calling. I studied Art History and Political Science at Vassar College, and completed my Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art. I worked in the art gallery industries for some years after, where I learned a lot about art, culture, and people. But, eventually I found myself seeking greater and more meaningful purpose to my life. I began to look into art therapy as a way of healing and exploration during this time of seeking. In particular, I found visualizations and guided meditations to be particularly clarifying as an approach integrated with art-making - and it was actually during a meditation that I had the realization: why not make this my life's work? At this point, I was navigating my sense of identity across a minefield of changes in my relationships, career, and sense of spirituality. The mid-20s were difficult for me. Coupled with the the political upheavals and then the advent of COVID-19, I was pretty lost. I decided to take a leap of faith, quit my job cold turkey, and applied for training programs to become a professional Art Therapist. Art therapy was, and continues to be a powerful space for me to sit, reflect and reconnect with who I am, and who I aspire to become. So now, I dedicate my work to the young adults swimming through similar changes. The ups and downs, wins and losses, trial and error that occurs when we go through that process of gaining independence, finding individuality, and understanding what makes us happy - that is inevitable. But what if I told you that there is a way you could keep yourself feeling aligned, inspired, and grounded through it all? By harnessing our minds and our creative capacities, we can take inspiration from themselves to gracefully evolve into adults who strong, empowered, and authentically full. We do this by allowing ourselves to dip into our creative flow, by constantly reflecting on ourselves, and allowing our internal selves to roam free. The way I work with individuals will vary depending on their intentions, needs, preferences. Some clients prefer a more process-oriented approach, while others find that a more psychodynamic, cognitive-based practice works better for them. I incorporate mindfulness, meditations, and psychosomatic methods in sessions often.
