Minét Brits
Hi, I'm Minét, a non-clinical art therapist. I love to encourage creativity in others and help people discover more about themselves using art. My favourite way to do this is through art therapy 1:1. In my courses, I meet you with care and guidance as you pursue your child-like creativity using a variety of art materials. I welcome women of all abilities including neurodivergence through self-referral or self-managed NDIS.

If you’d like to know more about me:
My therapeutic journey started 7 years ago, when I joined a 12-step group as a participant needing help for Depression. I used art to sift through many painful experiences and to find emotional regulation. Eventually as I became well, I began volunteering as a facilitator, interested in psychology, which is what I ended up studying. I moved into Psychotherapy and now specialize in non-clinical art therapy. I have worked in Disability Support, as an Arts Facilitator and have volunteer experience working with diverse clients in Family and Domestic Violence contexts. I now offer art therapy to women 18+ primarily facing the challenges that come from ADHD and Autism diagnosis. This includes, coming to terms with a new diagnosis, what this means for identity and tackling associated challenges such as disorganisation, problems prioritising and goal setting.
ABOUT THE THERAPY PROCESS: In your first session, we spend time running through some house-keeping, discuss briefly what you are coming to therapy for and how we will incorporate art into therapy specifically, to meet your personal goals. Additionally, you will be given a personalised PDF printable workbook acting as an "Art Therapy Journal" to track your journey. All you need for online therapy is a computer or mobile to access Zoom (or a similar telehealth set-up), a few colouring in pencils and some paper. It's easy to set up and easy to clean.
Topics we can discuss using art in therapy includes (but is not limited to);
- Defining and Meeting Goals Letting go of Tension.
- Unveiling more aspects of your Self-Identity.
- Dealing with Heartbreak (Relationship Breakdown or Relational Challenges).
- Developing Better Self-Esteem Improving Low Mood
