Hi, I'm Samantha. After studying psychology and diversity in 2011, I supported survivors of trauma within various crisis centers in Seattle, WA. I witnessed that art making was therapeutic to both survivors and to myself and found a lot of neuroscience to back it up. In 2018, I began creating regularly & Samantha Lesan Art was born! Art provides an accessible visual language for processing trauma and expressing difficult emotions beyond words. I offer guided artmaking and writing workshops to support you on your own unique heart healing journey! No previous artmaking experience necessary. Just come with an open and ready heart.

I have a Bachelors in Psychology and minor in Diversity from University of Washington, with 8+ years working in crisis centers with survivors of trauma, 4+ years practicing as a professional artist. I also have various trainings regarding recovery from abusive relationships and drug abuse. I am a part of the Ongoing Art to Heal a Heart Membership with artist Angela Miller.
